How to reset Kali Linux 2.0 password ?

In this post i will simply show you How to Reset or Bypass Kali Linux password, and hope it will help you when you will be here by searching How to hack Kali Linux password or How to reset Kali Linux password.

Step 1. Boot your Kali Linux and select Advance options for Kali GNU/Linux and hit Enter

Now select Recovery mode and press E key . 

You will see recovery page after pressing E key . 

Step 2.  Change read only mode (ro) to rw (read and write mode) and add init=/bin/bash after initrd=/install/gtk/initrd.gz in same line where you changed ro to rw like below screenshot . And then press F10 for reboot into your machine.

Now you will get a non graphics terminal like screen there you can easily change your password if you familiar with command if not no worry i will explain that part also.

After pressing F10 you will get screen like above , type passwd and hit Enter and type your password that's all. you will get echo that password updated successfully.

if you have more user in your system and want to reset password for root or any other user just type passwd and user name or root and hit enter and change password for that user also.
